TheAlfa Romeo Brera came with a 2.2 I4 or a 3.2 V6, the latter producing 256 bhp and delivering a 0-60 time of 6.8 seconds. The Brera was also offered with a range of diesel engines, and in its final years of production the V6 was replaced with a 1.75 turbocharged I4 producing 197 bhp.
159in-tank pump symptoms and behaviours I'm writing in the context of the 3.2 V6 rather than the TBi, but I believe the in-tank fuel pumps are similar if not identical. The high pressure pump is able to compensate for weakness in the pressure from the tank pump in normal running.
Ive also had a similar problem with my 2006 v6 manual 159. Both times car suddenly lost power after some hours of motorway cruising. Both times there was about 1/8 tank left or about 10 litres. First time was about a year ago on Hume Hwy. Car lost power, wouldn't even idle but restarted after 15 minutes but lost power again a few kays down
Eventhough virtually every parts site lists a 3.2 brera oil pressure switch as OE Part number 55202374 it looks like it should be 71754588. It's about 3mm shorter, takes a 27mm socket rather than 21mm and is a 3-pin connection, not single pin. I tried to find this part but it seems to be from alfa romeo only for €160 :curse: I had a look for
